In these times of uncertainty, it’s crucial that we’re supporting everyone in our community with safe, secure, attainable housing. At Housing Squamish, this means we are doubling down on our mission of bringing housing to Squamish.
We are now managing 48 affordable housing units in the community, at Tantalus Manor and Highline at Garibaldi Springs. We continue to advocate with all levels of government for critical funding and resources to support additional housing initiatives. We are working on two fronts. One is the acquisition and preservation of existing affordable rental homes, so they are not lost to redevelopment. The other is the creation of more affordable homes. Both are essential to creating the attainable housing opportunities so deeply needed in our town.
We are also pleased to announce the addition of Alanna Gillis to our team. Alanna brings expertise in program coordination, marketing, and project management, and we are excited about the impact she will make in advancing our mission. As always, our work is driven by the belief that housing is a fundamental human right. We are proud to serve this community with dedication and integrity, always guided by the spirit of truth and reconciliation.
As we move forward, we thank you for your continued support and commitment to housing justice. Together, we can overcome the challenges ahead and build a stronger, more equitable Squamish.
Yours truly,
Sarah Ellis
